Deployment Manager

As a Deployment Manager, you have the ability to break down a major deployment into discrete interconnected projects, each one delivering its own critical component. As the interface for the project managers leading each interconnected project, your choices will have a resounding impact on the success of the deployments.

Your responsibilities include:

• Release Trains have multiple major releases which are organized and coordinated by Deployment Manager

• Organizing deployment planning so that dependencies between different projects / applications are being planned and dependency risks are taken into consideration

• Creating of deployment plan which covers deployment schedule, cost and resourcing

• Monitoring progress of deployment projects, risks of release, schedule and cost. Cooperating with Release Management on release progress

• Managing of actual deployment to production (pre-tasks and release tasks) and resolution of release fixes where needed 

• Coordinating of deployment communications to all stakeholders

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects or programs, preferably in a BFSI business, with experience of working with customers across multiple project phases

• Experience in identifying and tracking dependent tasks across deployment projects, proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to dependencies

• Proficiency with establishing governance and management systems, managing inter dependencies of projects to develop a deployment master schedule, trade-off decisions, and asset and resource prioritization

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic agile environment, adapting to changing priorities while remaining outcome focused

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Project Management certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 (Projects IN Controlled Environments) or PgMP (Program Management Professional)

• Previous experience as a Deployment or Change manager and deep understanding of the associated processes

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices

• Existing knowledge/experience of the Banking & Financial Services Industry is highly desirable
